Tell the Prophet
A lot of times we get our miracle but we don’t come back and tell the Man of God. I was dealing with something the other day, where one says, “Come back and tell me when it’s done.” She didn’t become too familiar with the Man of God so, “Oh, I got my miracle.” I said, “Okay, I won’t see him until I get another crisis.” No. She didn’t even start thinking on her own. She came, the Bible said, and told the man of God. How many times people get breakthroughs? They had $50,000 check and they never tell the man of God because they’re afraid they’re going to ask for something. They don’t come and tell the man of God and some of us mess up because we don’t come and tell the man of God.
Think about the money you messed up. That you came into some serious money at some point in your life and you looked today and you can’t tell where that money is at. You told your family members, you told others that you had it. You told the bank person, you told your investor you had it. “I got $10,000 here.” You didn’t tell him and then he invested it and lost it for you but you never came and told the man of God. Now, she could look at that oil and say, “Okay.” If she hadn’t told the man of God, she might have said: “Okay, sons, this is the oil that spilled around the house so when the creditors come, they would slip and fall and hurt themselves.”
So here, she came and told the man of God and he said he has further instruction, “Go sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.” Then he goes working this miracle for this woman whose husband is dead.
And then in verse 8, “And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, and there was a great woman.” Now this is the woman of means, the last woman he dealt with. He didn’t have any means, and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. And she said to her husband, and her husband, no doubt wanted a son but could not discern who the man was that was passing. She said unto her husband, “Behold now, I perceive.” Notice, she got blessed on a perception. What you perceive who determine how you can conceive. “I perceive that this is a holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. I perceive this.” As she said to her husband, “Behold now, I perceive this is a holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us that he shall turn in thither. I want this prophet staying in our lives. We’ve got to create a chamber so he can stay in our home.”
