Prophets: The Visionaries of the Day

Back as far as biblical times, there have always been prophets, people who were prone to receiving the visionary Word of God and interpreting it for the benefit of the people. Many believe that the greatest prophets, like Buddha and Mohammed, were a more highly evolved form of humanity, more in tune with the visionary traffic constantly flowing from God. Prophets continue their work today. They are the visionaries of God. God said, “If there is a prophet, I will make myself known to him.” Prophets are extremely important in understanding and making use of your dreams and visions. But a prophet is not a translator for God. That’s not how prophecy works. If it did, we could simply publish a Berlitz-style book called, “Divine to Mortal: A Visionary Language Sourcebook” and translate visionary symbols into life instructions, like going from Spanish to English. It’s not that easy. A prophet teaches others how to recognize the truth. When I work with others using my prophetic gifts, I help them see the truth about themselves and their lives in the visions and dreams they have received. If a prophet simply tells you the meaning of something, how is that increasing your understanding? It’s like a psychologist telling you, “You need to go home and make love to your wife and everything will be all right.” You need to understand and see truth—both positive and negative—for yourself before you will act. The prophets help humanity see the truth in God’s words because God is fooled by no man’s self illusions.
