Prophecy from the Word
It’s great that we have churches, pastors and speakers to talk about God’s truth today. They are God’s instruments and they are being used for God’s purpose. But God is still speaking today as well, through prophecies, visions and signs. These messages from the Lord are His Living Word. And He uses His prophets in order for these words to come across.
The Lord has given His Word through prophecy as a further way of finding His direction. The written Word gives you the fundamentals, the basics, but often the Lord wants to give you specifics for your particular situation through speaking to you directly in prophecy. This is where prophetic prayer comes in. When you are in tune with God’s word and are open to being God’s messenger, you are able to receive prophetic prayer.
Prophecy will not contradict the written Word. A prophecy that is truly inspired by the Lord will not contradict the written recorded Word of God in the Bible, though it may fill in “gaps” in our understanding. The Word is the measurement, the standard by which it should be judged. This is why it is important that you are deeply connected with God in order for you to receive prophetic prayer. Speak to a prophet today and see how you can get receive prophetic prayer.
