Prophecies & Prophetic Prayers

What are prophecies and how are they different from prophetic prayer? And what are the different uses of prophetic prayer? Why do we need them in our lives?

Prophecy comes from God 2 Peter 1:21 – For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Acts 3:21 – God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Hosea 12:10 – I have also spoken by the prophets, and have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets. Romans 12:6 – Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith.

Prophetic prayer declares God’s message to whoever receives it. The prophet becomes a messenger of God and proclaims God’s plans for that person. Rather than it being a prayer of asking, it becomes a prayer of manifesting. Prophetic prayer allows us to be exposed to God’s plans and purpose for our lives. In that way, we are able to fulfill God’s prophetic destiny.
