Many Christians after World War II were praying for spiritual revival. Even at present, Christians all over the world are still praying for the same thing. What does it take to experience revival? First and foremost, even if schools of prophets can have a significant role in such revivals, they are not built by human hands. Instead, spiritual revivals are a product of the sovereign work of God. It is a work that is done by godly men and women of God, who can be in a prophetic movement.

A young man named Dwight Moody heard a challenge in 1867 from an evangelist, saying that world has not seen what God can do with, for, and through a man who is fully consecrated to him. Moody thought to himself that he wanted to be this man. He went on a prophetic and evangelistic ministry to preach the Gospel to a hundred million people. He built the Bible Institute and incited spiritual revival across two nations. This is a picture of a man who heeded the call of God and became a father of a school of prophets-movement.

An examination of

spiritual revivals
would show
that they are
always born of
the hearts of a
people
consecrated to
God. God looks
at the hearts of
people. He
would use any
man or woman
who is wholly
consecrated to
him. Thus, the
nature of the
school of
prophets can be characterized by the consecration of their hearts to God. It is a decision to make things happen and not just to watch from the sidelines. It is about their choice

to make their lives count for God.

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV)

Revival comes when His people call God by His Name,

1) Describe a goal that is well-defined.

and women of God to commit themselves to God and to cry out to Him. It does not require every citizen of a nation to respond to His offer. It only requires His people, a chosen few by which His work can be done through them. The School of Prophets represents a movement or a practice that represents what the verse above was referring to. Men and women who are consecrated for God are calling Him by His Name through their prophetic ministry. These people are expected to humble themselves and pray. The conditions of a revival required humility, which can be learned through hearing the Word and having fellowship with other believers, and through prayer. Moreover, it involves seeking His face and turning from their wicked ways. These are practices that we have observed from Schools of Prophets. As a product of this ministry, we can hear from heaven, God will forgive our sin, and He will heal our land (revival).
