Jesus Christ The Master
Jesus Christ the master, the son of God have shown us so many examples in the bible. Jesus was the perfect example of humility. Jesus was not only obedient to God the Father; he was also humble to allow himself to be human just to be the savior of mankind. Take a look at this, if you are a child of a powerful king, will you exchange the comfort of the palace to live among the commoners and even sacrifice your life for their wellbeing? Doing that takes more than just obedience, but also humility.
“In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled sight:” (Colossians 1:20-22 KJV)
One of the lessons that Jesus taught his disciples was servant-leadership. On the night before Jesus was betrayed by his disciple Judas, Jesus demonstrated how it was to be a servant-leader to all of his disciples. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. Jesus did this to teach his disciples that leaders must know how to serve. He said: “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.”
No one will ever be greater than God. Jesus is God. He is God the Son. But despite the fact that he is the Son of God the Father in heaven, Jesus gave up everything he has and took the form of a slave – a human who was below God. Jesus was so humble. The bible says that “Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.”
The Apostle Paul encourages everyone to take after the attitude of Jesus Christ. Paul wants every Christian to emulate the humility of Jesus. Humility is often easier said than done. How easy is it for you to say sorry whenever you did wrong? What about taking responsibility even if you’re not at fault at all? While you might think that you’re humble or that you can lower your pride, the truth is your sinful nature will always try to corrupt and ruin your spirit. Sin will try to find its way to inject pride and arrogance in you. You have to listen to Paul. You have to emulate the humility of Jesus. You have to keep in mind what Jesus did in front of his disciples. If Jesus, the most high and Lord over all the earth can humble himself to wash over his disciples’ feet, then who are you not to humble yourself before others?
