Admitting Weaknesses & Sins
Everybody makes mistakes; however, not everyone is humble enough to admit to these. Some people act as though they are perfect and blameless, and would sometimes even lie in order to save their pride.
God teaches us that we must try to be more genuine by admitting to our weaknesses and sins. Although it may be embarrassing to admit to a wrongdoing, it is the only way for anyone to be truly authentic. An authentic person is transparent about every aspect of him or herself, including flaws.
Those who are able to confess their sins are not only authentic, but liberated. When one can admit to his or her faults, the pressure to be ‘perfect’ is removed. There will be no need to defend oneself and act blameless all the time. Such an experience can make one feel very open and free about whom they really are -warts and all.
If you want to be free and authentic, start by looking at your faults and weaknesses. Try to admit to these first to yourself, and then to other people. You will see how a huge weight will be lifted afterwards.
